First Time to see - Ted Nugent
Jun 28, 2024
Loud. Very loud. My chest hurt as I left the auditorium from the decibels surely... Stacks of speaker cabinets. Ted leaping from the top of them. Feedback. All of my favorites. But, you should have seen my face when I learned that Ted was not the singer on my favorite songs. Nope. I understand some people still do not know. It was Derick St. Holmes! Yes! Everyone around me had the same look. These days I look for Derick performing around Nashville and try to make the show. He and the boys can get in a groove like no other. You will find him usually around Printers Alley or in Franklin. If you are very lucky you will catch him with Brad Whiford! Their Whitford/St. Holmes album still rocks my iPod. Check him out!

First Time to see - Aerosmith

Mixed emotions driving to the show. Heavy snow in Nashville and it was going to be a challenge getting to and from the auditorium. And, Joe had already left the band. I did not know what to expect. First, Mr. Jimmy Crespo stepped in and kicked butt right away. It was great to see Brad still there and rocking better then ever. He is so overlooked of his contributions. But, the overall show was poor. Sound quality, delivery, and the guys in general. I guess this could be contributed to the practices of days maybe? Thankfully, the guys did get it back together.

First Time to see - Judas Priest

I had started to expand my music enjoyment into some heavier tunes. Judas Priest lead the way primarily due to their British Steel album. When they released their Screaming for Vengeance album I made a point to go see the show. I was not disappointed. This was a very powerful show. I have never heard vocals with more power and range. Epic.
